Geeking Out
So I spent a good chunk of my holiday lazying around on the couch recovering from turkey coma, playing video games with my brother. We managed to finish three games in the few days I was home.
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Two death-row inmates escape and....actually, you know what - I don't even really know what the story was about - it wasn't very clear. It kind of skipped over a lot of details. Graphics were so-so. Some of the fight scenes were cool though, like when you're trying to escape the police in a street shootout, reminiscent of the movie Heat. But the computer a.i. is laughable. Overall, the story was weak. And the ending was like, "What? That's it?!?". Not recommended.
Halo 3: ODST
I won't explain the entire Halo trilogy, but ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers) takes place at the same time as Halo 2, where troopers remain on Earth to fight the Covenant. Especially after just playing Kane & Lynch, the graphics and game play were so much better. The storyline is much more detailed and the atmosphere is great, aided by a very fitting soundtrack. If you like the Halo series, you'll definitely like this one too. Great game!
Gears of War 2
Basically the storyline is just lots of killing aliens and blowing up sh*t. Details in the graphics are amazing and the alien designs are awesome. Great gameplay - very cinematic at points (the black tunnel freaked me out!). Had me on the edge of my seat for most of it! Definitely my favourite of the 3 games.
