Located nearby to Chatuchak Market, the area was provided by the State Railway, and is also only open on the weekends, from late afternoon until midnight; although it really doesn't start picking up till around dinner time.
There are temporary stalls set up to sell smaller items, as well as warehouses along the sides of the tracks that have most of the larger pieces.
Of course there is plenty of local food and drink available, and you can sit in one of the empty train cars to take a rest and have a beer or two to cool off.
It's a great atmosphere and a dream for those who love anything vintage. I managed to pick up an old BTS skytrain bench from this shop for my foyer for like $20.
To get to the Night Train Market, or 'Talad Rot Fai', as it's called, take the MRT to Kampaeng Phet Station and walk about 10 mins west on Kampaeng Phet Road. You can't miss it on your right.

Vintage markets are an incredibly fun way to spend a leisurely afternoon...getting lost in the remnants of worlds gone by.
